Mk lynn: My Story & faith journey
MK Lynn (Myrah) brings a blend of Detroit grit, California warmth, and faith‑rooted wisdom to everything she creates. A proud Motown native, she spent 16 years in law enforcement—an experience she jokes she’s still recovering from—and those years shaped her eye for truth, purpose, and people.
She and her husband of 37 years have one daughter, a wildly talented special effects artist whose thriving career is living proof that God hears very specific prayers. Whew!
Writing under the pen name MK Lynn, her debut non‑fiction book, Carpet Fit For A King, became a bestseller and chronicles the unpredictable, stretching, and transformative journey of her faith. Her voice is equal parts humor, honesty, and Holy Spirit clarity—rooted in the lessons she learned growing up in the “old church days” and discovering, later in life, what it truly means to walk in God’s purpose.
Path to purpose
MK Lynn’s professional journey began on the streets of Detroit, where she served 16 years as a police officer. Those years shaped her instincts for truth, discernment, and human behavior—skills that would become the foundation of her life’s work. After transitioning out of law enforcement, she stepped into the world of corporate security, eventually becoming an industrial security professional with more than twenty years of experience partnering with executive teams across multiple Fortune 500 companies.
Along the way, she earned an MS in Security Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy, a BA in Human Resources Management from Spring Arbor College, and achieved two of the industry’s highest credentials: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP). Her career has taken her from patrol cars to boardrooms, from crisis response to strategic leadership—each step sharpening her ability to protect, guide, and lead with integrity.
But beneath the titles and accomplishments was a deeper story unfolding. Every role, every challenge, and every promotion was quietly preparing her for a greater purpose. Today, that purpose shows up in her writing, her podcasting, and her calling to help others walk boldly in the authority God has given them.
Outside of her professional life, MK is a devoted wife and mother. She and her forever boyfriend of 36 years raised one daughter—an extraordinary special effects artist whose thriving career is proof that God answers even the most specific prayers. When MK isn’t working, she can be found reading, cooking, golfing, or enjoying what she proudly calls her “warrior princess exploits. golfing, and engaging in what she proudly calls her “warrior princess exploits.”Her path has never been linear, but every chapter has led her closer to purpose—and she now uses her story to help others discover their own.
